Tiramisu is a all-time-classic desert from the Italian cuisine. You can find it on almost every menu in an Italian restaurant, because it's so popular. But it's not that easy to find in a vegan version in Italian restaurants.
Normally, Tiramisu takes some time to prepare. This is a quick & easy vegan recipe almost everyone can prepare under 30 minutes, if you have all at hand.
Vegan Tiramisu - quick & easy!
The translation of Tiramisu is "Pull me up". This traditional Italian desert from Venetia is pure soulfood. It brings back your good mood, and the coffee in this sweet delicious dish may wake you up a bit, too.
You may have a problem of finding vegan ladyfinger biscuits at once. The best chances to get some is in an organic supermarket. Soy yogurt should be available in any well stocked supermarket in these days.
My little secret here is to set up just one layer of ladyfingers. This makes the whole preparation process quicker and the amount is good enough for 2 or 3 persons, who are ready to indulge. I do not add sugar.
Ingredients
- 400 g alpro Skyr style or other soy yogurt with vanilla flavour
- a package of vegan ladyfingers
- 2 cups of cold coffee or / and some coffee liqueur like Tia Maria
- a selection of fresh berries like blueberries and raspberries
- vegan cacao powder
Instructions
- Wash the berries and put them aside to drip-dry
- Cover the bottom of a cocotte / baking dish with the ladyfingers
- Carefully pour the cold coffee and / or the coffee liquor over it. Not too much, because the ladyfingers will soak very quickly. Those ladyfingers should be soft, but they mustn't fall apart, and the bottom of the cocotte mustn't be flooded by the coffee.
- Mix a bit of coffee with the soy yogurt to make it a bit more liquid
- Cover the ladyfingers equally with a good layer of soy yogurt
- Cover everything with the cacao powder. The best way is to carefully rub the cacao powder through a strainer with a table spoon.
- Spread the berries all over the Tiramisu. If you have some time left, put it in the fridge. You may serve the Tiramisu at once. Enjoy!
